Hello everyone, and welcome back to Gadgetfox! Today, we’re taking a closer look at two popular fitness trackers from Xiaomi – the Mi Band and the Mi Band 2. As someone who loves technology and is always on the lookout for new gadgets to help me stay healthy and active, I was really excited to test out these devices and see how they stack up.

Let’s start with the original Mi Band. When I first opened the sleek packaging, I was impressed by how light and comfortable the band felt on my wrist. The design is simple and minimalist, with a small OLED display that shows the time and basic fitness tracking information. The Mi Band is water-resistant, so I had no concerns about wearing it during my daily workouts or even in the shower.

Setting up the Mi Band was a breeze – all I had to do was download the Mi Fit app on my smartphone, sync the device via Bluetooth, and input some basic personal information. The app is user-friendly and offers a variety of features, including step tracking, sleep monitoring, and even a vibrating alarm clock. I found the step tracking to be fairly accurate, and it was motivating to see my progress throughout the day.

One of the standout features of the Mi Band is its impressive battery life. Xiaomi claims that the device can last up to 30 days on a single charge, and I found this to be true in my own testing. This was a huge plus for me, as I hate having to constantly charge my devices and worry about them dying in the middle of the day.

Overall, I was really impressed with the original Mi Band. It’s a budget-friendly fitness tracker that offers all the essential features you need to stay on top of your health and fitness goals. However, when Xiaomi released the Mi Band 2, I was curious to see what improvements they had made.

Upon unboxing the Mi Band 2, I immediately noticed the new and improved design. The OLED display is larger and more vibrant, making it easier to read in both indoor and outdoor lighting conditions. The band itself is also more comfortable and secure on my wrist, with a adjustable strap that ensures a perfect fit.

In terms of features, the Mi Band 2 offers everything the original Mi Band does, plus a few extras. One of my favorite new additions is the heart rate monitor, which provides real-time data on my heart rate during exercise and throughout the day. I found this feature to be really useful for tracking my overall fitness and monitoring my stress levels.

Another new feature of the Mi Band 2 is the ability to receive call and message notifications directly on the device. This was a game-changer for me, as I no longer had to constantly check my phone during workouts or meetings to see if I had any important messages. The vibration alerts were strong and easily noticeable, even when I was in a noisy environment.

Similar to the original Mi Band, the Mi Band 2 has excellent battery life. I was able to go nearly a month without needing to charge the device, even with all the extra features and notifications. This is a huge selling point for me, as I appreciate the convenience of not having to worry about constantly plugging in my fitness tracker.

In conclusion, both the Mi Band and the Mi Band 2 are excellent fitness trackers that offer fantastic value for the price. Whether you’re looking for a basic tracker to monitor your daily activity or a more advanced device with heart rate monitoring and smartphone notifications, Xiaomi has you covered. I would highly recommend either of these devices to anyone in the market for a reliable and affordable fitness tracker.
