As I stood before the audience at Ulster University’s First Annual CS Lewis Symposium, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of reverence. The room was filled with scholars, students, and fans of the legendary writer and thinker, CS Lewis. And here I was, about to deliver a keynote talk on one of the most influential figures in literature and Christian apologetics.

The topic of my talk was C.S. Lewis and his profound impact on the world of literature and faith. I delved into his life, his works, and the enduring legacy he left behind. I spoke about his conversion to Christianity, his friendship with J.R.R. Tolkien, and his groundbreaking novels such as The Chronicles of Narnia and Mere Christianity.

One of the key points I made in my talk was Lewis’s ability to seamlessly blend reason and imagination in his writings. He was a master storyteller who used allegory, mythology, and fantasy to convey deep theological truths in a way that resonated with readers of all ages.

I also touched on Lewis’s unique perspective on suffering and the human condition. He believed that pain and suffering were a necessary part of life, and that through them we could come to a deeper understanding of God’s love and grace.

Throughout my talk, I wove in personal anecdotes and insights from my own study of Lewis’s works. I shared how his writings had impacted my own faith journey and how I continue to be inspired by his wisdom and insight.

The audience was engaged and captivated throughout my keynote talk. There were nods of agreement, murmurs of approval, and even a few tears shed as I spoke about the profound impact that C.S. Lewis had on the world.

As I wrapped up my talk, I was met with a standing ovation from the audience. It was a humbling and gratifying experience to share my thoughts on such a beloved figure with a group of like-minded individuals who shared my passion for literature, faith, and the enduring legacy of C.S. Lewis.

In conclusion, Dr. Malcolm Guite’s Keynote Talk on C.S. Lewis at Ulster University’s First Annual CS Lewis Symposium was a resounding success. It was an honor and a privilege to share my knowledge and insights on a figure who continues to inspire and challenge readers to this day.
