I had the pleasure of attending the Public School Spring 2016 Ready-To-Wear show at New York Fashion Week, and let me tell you, it was a spectacle to behold. The energy in the room was electric as fashion enthusiasts from all over the world gathered to see what designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne had in store for us this season.

As the lights dimmed and the music began to pulse through the room, the first model strutted down the runway in a sleek, all-white ensemble that set the tone for the rest of the show. Public School is known for its edgy, urban aesthetic, and this collection did not disappoint. From oversized hoodies to tailored jackets, every piece exuded a cool, downtown vibe that was undeniably New York.

One of the standout looks of the show was a cropped bomber jacket paired with high-waisted trousers and a sheer, mesh top. The juxtaposition of masculine and feminine elements created a striking silhouette that was both modern and timeless. The designers also played with proportions, adding unexpected twists like asymmetrical hems and oversized sleeves that added a sense of drama to the collection.

Another highlight of the show was the use of bold, graphic prints that added a pop of color to the otherwise neutral color palette. From geometric patterns to abstract motifs, each piece was a work of art in its own right. The designers also incorporated unexpected textures like leather and metallic fabrics, adding depth and dimension to the collection.

Accessories played a key role in completing the looks, with models sporting chunky platform sandals and oversized statement earrings that added a touch of glamour to the streetwear-inspired ensembles. The hair and makeup were equally impactful, with sleek, slicked-back hair and minimal makeup that let the clothes shine.

Overall, the Public School Spring 2016 Ready-To-Wear collection was a masterclass in cool, downtown style. The designers managed to strike the perfect balance between edgy and wearable, creating a collection that is sure to be a hit with fashion-forward consumers. I left the show feeling inspired and excited to incorporate some of these trends into my own wardrobe this season.

If you have the chance to attend a Public School show in the future, I highly recommend it. The energy and creativity on display are truly something to behold, and I guarantee you will leave feeling inspired and ready to take on the world with a newfound sense of style.
