I Tried Buying A Capsule Wardrobe From OLD NAVY…
133KHi everyone, welcome back to my channel! Today I have a really exciting video for you all. I recently challenged myself to buy a capsule wardrobe from Old Navy. If you’re not familiar with the concept of a capsule wardrobe, it’s a collection of essential clothing items that can be mixed and matched to create a variety of different outfits. The idea is to have a smaller, more intentional wardrobe that makes getting dressed in the morning a breeze. So, I headed to Old Navy with a budget in mind and a plan to create the perfect capsule wardrobe. Let’s see how it went!
First, let me give you a little background on why I chose Old Navy for this challenge. Old Navy is known for its affordable, trendy clothing that appeals to a wide range of ages and styles. I was drawn to the idea of creating a capsule wardrobe from a store that offers a variety of options at budget-friendly prices. Plus, I wanted to see if I could find all the key pieces I needed in one place.
As soon as I walked into Old Navy, I was greeted by racks upon racks of colorful clothing. I immediately felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of options available. I knew I needed to stick to my plan and not get distracted by all the cute clothes that weren’t part of my capsule wardrobe. I had a list of key pieces that I needed to find, including a white t-shirt, a pair of jeans, a versatile dress, a blazer, and a few other essentials.
After spending some time browsing the racks, I was able to find most of the items on my list. I picked up a classic white t-shirt, a pair of high-waisted jeans, a navy blazer, a striped shirt, a black dress, and a couple of basic tops. I also found a few accessories like a belt and a scarf that I thought would add some interest to my outfits.
One thing I noticed while shopping at Old Navy was the quality of the clothing. While the prices were definitely affordable, some of the pieces felt a little cheaply made. The fabrics were thin and the stitching didn’t look very sturdy. I was a little concerned about how well these pieces would hold up over time, especially if I was planning on wearing them frequently as part of my capsule wardrobe.
Despite my reservations about the quality, I was excited to start putting together some outfits with my new Old Navy pieces. I laid everything out on my bed and began mixing and matching to see what combinations I could come up with. I started with the basics, pairing the white t-shirt with the high-waisted jeans and adding the navy blazer on top. I loved how chic and put-together this outfit looked, perfect for a casual day at the office or brunch with friends.
Next, I tried layering the striped shirt under the blazer for a more preppy look. I also paired the black dress with the belt and scarf for a simple yet stylish outfit that could easily transition from day to night. I was impressed by how versatile these pieces were and how easily they could be mixed and matched to create different looks.
As I continued to play around with my new capsule wardrobe, I started to notice a few issues with the fit of the clothing. The jeans were a little too tight in the waist, while the blazer was a bit boxy and didn’t quite flatter my figure. The black dress also felt a little shapeless on me, lacking the structure and tailoring that I prefer in a dress. While the pieces looked great on the hanger, they didn’t necessarily fit me as well as I had hoped.
Despite these fit issues, I was determined to make the most of my Old Navy capsule wardrobe. I decided to try layering different pieces together to see if I could create more flattering silhouettes. I cinched the blazer at the waist with the belt to create more shape, and I added the scarf as a statement accessory to draw attention away from the shapeless dress. With a little creativity and styling, I was able to make the pieces work for me.
After spending a week wearing my Old Navy capsule wardrobe, I have to say I have mixed feelings about the experience. On one hand, I loved the ease and simplicity of having a smaller, more intentional wardrobe. Getting dressed in the morning was a breeze, and I loved how everything mixed and matched so effortlessly. I also appreciated the affordability of the clothing, as well as the trendy styles that Old Navy offered.
However, I couldn’t ignore the issues I had with the quality and fit of the clothing. Some of the pieces felt cheaply made and didn’t quite flatter my figure the way I had hoped. While I was able to make the pieces work with some creative styling, I couldn’t help but wish that the clothes had been better constructed and tailored to fit a variety of body shapes.
Overall, my experience of buying a capsule wardrobe from Old Navy was a valuable learning experience. I discovered the importance of investing in quality pieces that fit well and flatter my figure, rather than simply going for the most affordable option. While Old Navy offers a wide range of trendy clothing at budget-friendly prices, I may need to look elsewhere for pieces that truly meet my needs and preferences.
