Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel! Today, I am so excited to share with you a project that I have been working on for the past few months – a 1950’s Monkey Dress inspired by the Vogue V8789 pattern. I have documented the entire process in this project vlog, as well as sharing my review of the pattern itself.

First off, let me give you a little background on the Vogue V8789 pattern. This pattern is a reproduction of a classic 1950’s design, featuring a fitted bodice with a full skirt, and a cute little monkey motif on the front. I fell in love with this pattern as soon as I saw it, and knew that I had to make it for myself.

Before starting on this project, I carefully studied the pattern instructions and made sure to take accurate measurements of my body. I then selected a beautiful cotton fabric with a retro print that I thought would perfectly complement the 1950’s vibe of the dress.

As I began cutting out the pattern pieces, I was impressed by the precision of the markings and the clear instructions provided. The construction of the dress itself was quite straightforward, with the bodice coming together easily and the skirt attaching seamlessly.

One of the trickiest parts of this project was definitely the monkey motif. I had never attempted applique before, so I was a bit nervous about getting it right. However, I followed the instructions carefully and took my time, and I was thrilled with the end result – a cute little monkey swinging on a branch on the front of my dress.

After finishing all the details and giving the dress a final press, I couldn’t wait to try it on. I slipped into the dress and was immediately transported back to the 1950’s – the fit was perfect, and the silhouette was just as I had imagined. I was over the moon with how this dress turned out!

Overall, I would highly recommend the Vogue V8789 pattern to anyone looking to recreate a classic 1950’s look. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the end result was a beautiful dress that I am proud to wear. I can’t wait to style this dress with some vintage accessories and show it off to the world!

Thank you so much for watching this project vlog and pattern review. I hope you enjoyed following along with me as I created this 1950’s Monkey Dress. If you decide to make this dress yourself, be sure to tag me on social media so I can see your creation. Until next time, happy sewing!
