Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel! In today’s video, I’ll be showing you how to make the cutest sheer summer dress that is perfect for a cover-up as well. This is Part 2 of the series, so if you haven’t watched Part 1 yet, be sure to check it out first!

First things first, let’s gather all the materials we’ll need for this project. You’ll need a sheer fabric of your choice, some elastic for the waistband, thread, scissors, pins, and a sewing machine. Feel free to get creative with the fabric you choose, whether it’s a floral print, polka dots, or a solid color.

Once you have all your materials ready, it’s time to start making the dress. Begin by measuring and cutting the fabric according to your desired length and width. Make sure to leave extra fabric for seam allowance.

Next, fold the fabric in half with the right sides facing each other and pin the sides together. Use a straight stitch on your sewing machine to sew the sides together, leaving an opening for the arms. Be sure to backstitch at the beginning and end of each seam to secure it.

After sewing the sides, it’s time to create the neckline. Fold the top edge of the fabric down about an inch and sew a straight stitch along the edge to create a casing for the elastic. Leave a small opening to insert the elastic later on.

Now, it’s time to insert the elastic. Measure your waist and cut the elastic to that length, then use a safety pin to guide the elastic through the casing you just created. Once the elastic is all the way through, sew the ends of the elastic together and close the opening in the casing.

To finish off the dress, hem the bottom edge of the fabric by folding it up about half an inch and sewing a straight stitch along the edge. You can also add some decorative touches like lace trim or pom-poms for an extra cute detail.

And there you have it, your homemade sheer summer dress is complete! This dress is perfect for throwing on over your swimsuit at the beach, or dressing up with some sandals for a casual summer look.
