As always, the Met Gala brings out the biggest names in fashion and entertainment, and this year was no different. The theme for the evening was “Fashion In The Future,” and I have to say, the attendees did not disappoint.
Now, before we get into the best and worst looks of the night, let me just say that fashion is subjective. What one person may love, another may hate. With that being said, let’s jump right into it!
First up, we have the stunning Zendaya. Zendaya always knows how to make a statement on the Met Gala red carpet, and this year was no exception. She arrived in a jaw-dropping, futuristic ballgown that left everyone in awe. The dress featured intricate metallic detailing and a dramatic train that seemed to go on for miles. Zendaya’s hair and makeup were equally as striking, with sleek, silver locks and glowing, metallic makeup. She truly looked like a vision from the future.
Next, we have the always fashionable Rihanna. Rihanna never fails to turn heads at the Met Gala, and this year was no different. She arrived in a sleek, silver jumpsuit that hugged her every curve. The jumpsuit featured cutouts and metallic accents that gave it a futuristic edge. Rihanna completed the look with a silver headpiece and bold, metallic makeup. On the other end of the spectrum, we have a look that missed the mark. Unfortunately, not every attendee hit the nail on the head with their interpretation of the theme. One look that fell flat for me was worn by a certain reality TV star. She arrived in a neon green gown that seemed more suited for a music festival than the Met Gala. The dress was ill-fitting and the color clashed with the futuristic theme of the evening. Overall, it was a rare miss for this usually stylish celebrity.
Another look that left me scratching my head was worn by a famous singer. She arrived in a metallic bodysuit that was covered in neon lights. While I appreciate the effort to embrace the theme of “Fashion In The Future,” the execution fell short. The bodysuit was distracting and over-the-top, and it overshadowed the singer’s natural beauty. Sometimes, less is more, and in this case, simplicity would have been the better choice.
Now, let’s switch gears and talk about some of the standout looks of the night. One attendee who stole the show was a Hollywood actress. She arrived in a futuristic gown that shimmered and sparkled with every step. The gown featured intricate beading and metallic accents that caught the light in the most mesmerizing way.
